VISIONIK has following competence areas:
Based on six years of
experience planning, conceptualising, developing, integrating and running
interactive TV (iTV) services we have learned that the main drivers behind
launching or expanding an iTV platform are: Entertainment, Information,
Communication and Transaction services.
Taking a starting point in these four categories, our interactive TV portfolio demonstrates the unique depth and breadth of this experience such as, EPGs, portals, mosaic browsing screens, games, home banking, betting, messaging services as well as news, information, weather and transactional services. Much of this work is genuinely pioneering – finding innovative solutions to complex technical issues and developing “first of breed” applications and services. Our platform services are developed on different middlewares and are deployed across cable, satellite and terrestrial networks throughout the world.
Enhanced TV. Enhancing broadcast content and traditional programming turns the TV viewing into a new experience. In January 2001, VISIONIK and the Danish Broadcasting Corporation broke new ground by introducing the first truly live enhanced TV show on consumer issues ever to be broadcast. The show, ROFL, has been honoured with two prominent industry awards - the EMMA in 2000 and the IBC Nombre d’Or award in 2001 for best interactive TV application.
Since then we have further developed the technology and content editing facilities for producers. The last project was an enhanced TV application for the World Cup Soccer 2002 for Arab Radio and Television.
Technology and Infrastructure. Our Backstage® technology framework enables interactive services and rich media distribution for network operators and broadcasters. Our commitment to interactive services and media convergence is ultimately represented by our Rich Media Convergence Center, an Authorized iForce Ready Center; a customer proof-of-concept and demonstration center for media convergence and distribution, which we have created together with Sun Microsystems and a world-class team of best-of-breed partners. The Center is located in Copenhagen.
Games. Our enhanced games offering and portfolio of set-top box games are currently running in more than eight networks across the globe. The games range from amusing and engaging ones dedicated towards kids to innovative, demanding and entertaining games meant for the older gaming audience. Different game genres include strategy, puzzle, quiz, sports, arcade and board games.
